Gain Financial Indepence Buy Living the Good Life
You might look at the title and say there is no way to live the good life and gain financial independence unless of course, you are already well off. I say it is not true, look at your life and your needs. What can you change to save money. When I was in college, I couldn’t tell you how much money I wasted on coffee when I had a coffee maker at home. I also used to be one of those of people who refused to buy generic groceries. I get almost twice as much food buying cheap groceries. The good life is relative anyway but if you are well off don’t you want to stay that way? I talked many times about ways to save money or do things cheaper and they are tips for everyone regardless of gross income.
One of the things, I do to save money and the environment is going to Goodwill to buy used books. I am a book lover and new books can be around $20 a piece and maybe $6 or so for a paperback. At Goodwill a hardback book costs me a $1 and a paperback .50 those are prices I like to pay. The more books I buy there, the less that ends of in a landfill. Plus if you look you can find name brand clothes for cheap maybe .25. No one has to know you bought anything at the Goodwill as they look good, who cares right?
Living the minimalistic life is key to gaining financial freedom. Why squander hard earned money when with a little thinking you can find a cheaper way of doing it or not buying it all (do you really need your 50th glass penguin?) If you don’t believe me then why not check out The Happy Minimalist a book by Peter Lawrence. Peter had a great job at HP but left because he followed a minimalist lifestyle providing him the means to be financially independent. A book to read no matter your situation. He describes his formula for good health, green living and money in the bank. You can buy it through most major online bookstores like Amazon, Barnes and Noble. I think I will wait a few months and buy the book on Amazon when it is used, maybe with my turk money.
Have a green day!

I like this blog post!
Very good point you’re bringing out. I’m trying to change all this myself. Especially with going to a cheaper food store than I normally do, or buying used stuff more (like books), etc.
Once again, good point!
